Document Search, aka Doc Search, facilitates finding documents that have been created within Kuali Financials.
Basic Doc Search
The basic search provides a short list of criteria common across all documents: Document Type, initiator, Document ID (number); Date Created From and To. Name this search is typically used with detailed or custom doc search.
Detailed Search
Detailed Search can be accessed by clicking the detailed search button on the Basic Search screen. The basic search fields are expanded to include search fields related to workflow data on the document: Document Status, Date Approved, etc. Click basic search to get back to the Basic Search.
Custom Searches
When a document type code is entered in the Document Type field and you tab out, additional fields specific to that document type are added to facilitate specific searching. The following screenshot shows a Purchase Order (PO) search, fields specific to POs include Purchase Order Number, Requisition number, Vendor Number, etc.
Saving Searches
All searches can be named using the Name this search field and once named are available for quick access from the Searches Dropdown. This Dropdown also keeps track of any searches that you may have made recently.
Search Results
Search results can display with data specific to the document or with workflow information. Use the Search Result Type field to toggle back and forth. As with all Kuali Financials Lookups, results can be exported to a spreadsheet.
