The Kuali Financials Dashboard is permission aware, users will only see what they have access to use.
Let's take a quick tour:
Contains links to the Action List, Document Search, the Logged in user and a Menu. The Menu contains About which lists the current application and rice versions and Help that opens the On line User Guide. Changing where Help goes and adding additional links can be done by authorized users using Institution Configuration.
NOTE: The yellow bar and the Back Door ID only show in non-production environments and are primarily used by support personnel to help troubleshoot issues. Backdoor may also be used when testing new features before turning them on in production.
The Jump to... box lets you look for a document, which is helpful if you don't know which grouping it's in. Clicking in the Jump to... box or clicking the command Ctrl K (or the Mac equivalent) will open a modal.
As you start typing, items matching your search criteria will display. Your favorites will be listed first.
Once your item is highlighted, you can click return to open that page. You can also use your up and down keys and other keys noted on the bottom of the Jump to... modal.
The check boxes below the Jump To... box allow you to control the number and type of links that you will see when you open the menu groups.
Checking and unchecking these boxes will not affect Jump to... Jump to... will always show you the items to which you have access.
When you click on a menu group, the menu options display in a fly out. Links are categorized as Activities, Reference and Administration. If you had unchecked any of these boxes above, that group would not show.
NOTE: Creating new menu groups, changing or deleting existing menu groups and moving links around can be done by authorized users via the Institution Configuration.
This functionality allows users to identify menu items that they frequently use. There are two ways to add or remove links to the My Favorites group.
- When you hover over a menu item a heart displays. Clicking on the heart will add the item to the My Favorites group. To remove an item from My Favorites, hover over the item and a trashcan will appear. Click on the trashcan to remove the item.
- You can also click on the My Favorites group to open it up. Then click on the Configure link to open the My Favorites Configuration page. From here you can open the My Favorites group to remove items by unchecking them, or open the other groups and checking on menu items to add them to the My Favorites group.
Use the Refresh Menu link to update the links on your menu. If someone has recently granted you permission to something, you may need to click this link to refresh your menu items.
