Home, Message of the Day and My Favorites
When you log into Kuali Financials, you will be on the Home page. If you have identified Favorites, your My Favorites will display. You can always access your favorites by clicking Home. The Home page will also show the Message of the Day if one has been added by your system administrator.
NOTE: The yellow "This is a test environment" bar and the Back Door ID, Log in and Log Out buttons only show in non-production environments. The Back Door ID is used primarily by support personnel to help troubleshoot issues. Backdoor may also be used when testing new features before turning them on in production. Refer to Enabling Backdoor Login in a non-prod environment for additional information.
If you don't have any favorites, your homepage will look like the following:
After you open a Dashboard page, you can hover over a menu item and a heart displays. Clicking on the heart will add the item to your Favorites and will display on the Home page. To remove an item from your Favorites, hover over the item while on your My Favorites and a trashcan will appear. Click on the trashcan to remove the item.
You can also click on the gear icon on the Home Page to the right of My Favorites. The Configuration page allows you add and remove items by checking and un-checking them.
Home, Action List, Doc Search, Reports and Jump To
Home, Action List, Doc Search and Reports are pretty self explanatory. The Jump to... box lets you look for a document or look up, which is helpful if you don't know which Dashboard group it's in. Clicking in the Jump to... box or Ctrl K (windows) or Cmd K (mac) will open a modal where you can enter search criteria.
As you start typing, items matching your search criteria will display. You can also search for a Dashboard page, Action List and Doc Search in the Jump To...
Once your item is highlighted, you can click return to open that page. You can also use your up and down keys and other keys noted on the bottom of the Jump to... modal.
Dashboard Groups
Following Jump To... are the Dashboard Groups. The Dashboard Groups are managed by authorized users using Institution Configuration.
If there isn't enough room on your monitor to display all the dashboard groups, they will be collapsed into More Items. Click on More Items to display all the remaining dashboard items.
When you click on a side bar menu group, a dashboard page for that group will open. The items that you have access to will display. The items are divided into groups also determined by your system administrator and can be different from dashboard to dashboard.
User, Help and About
The signed in users full name and avatar contains a user menu with Refresh Navigation and Sign Out links.
Use the Refresh Navigation link to update the links on your menu. If someone has recently granted you permission to something, you may need to click this link to refresh your menu items.
Help opens the On line User Guide. About lists the current application and database versions.
Collapse / Expand Navigation
And last, but not least, is the Collapse / Expand Navigation which opens and closes the sidebar. Icons remain viewable for each menu item.
