Asset Location Global

Overview

The Asset Location Global allows the user to change location information (campus, building code, room, sub room and tag number) on multiple assets at the same time.

Add assets one at a time or use the Look Up/Add Multiple Asset Lines to lookup and return multiple assets. As Assets are added, an Asset Location is added for each Asset. 

Most fields on this tab are self explanatory, those needing additional explanation are described below: 

• Tag Number: The tag number is required. It cannot be used on another active asset and if a new tag number is entered, the old tag number will be moved to the Old Tag Number field. 
• Update Last Inventory Date:  Can be used to update the assets last inventory date if no changes are made to the asset’s location. When the button is clicked, a Note is added to the document indicating that the asset’s last inventory update date was updated by the button and not due to a change in the asset’s location.
  • If a change is made to the location or the asset is deleted from the document before the document is submitted, the note will be removed.
  • If the button is clicked and changes have been made to this asset that will update the assets last inventory date, the user will be given a warning that clicking the button is unnecessary.
